This post is about STEM related inventions. Mines is about solar enery thus solar panels and also the cure for cancer. For starters the cure for cancer. I've known of a few people who lost their lives to cancer, so I would like to see an end to that permantly or atleast mostly. Another thing I would like to see is solar power becoming more useful and readily available. I think it could be a good alternative fuel source I mean we can't rely on oil forever we'll end up screwing our self over seriously.

This STEM blog assignment is to tell how Globaloria has cause me to become more engaged in our classes. Form me, this is hard because it hasn't really caused me to be engaged in any of my classes I mean here still boring. I have looked at other peoples games and have saw how it could engage students in their classes or other things, but from how our game is about social issues, it won't really give us the desire to do more school wise. Another reason Globaloria doesn't help get me engaged is that I'm just lazy i'll admit it. I always get good or decent grades, and even in classes I don't like that much, I still do well. I am in spanish II talk about difficult. Although Globaloria doesn't help me much, I can understand how it could help other people. Plus in all honesty the game design aspect was the only reason I'm in it.

My choice of a career in technology Is a game designer or any field an games mind you but I digress. Square Enix is my main company of choice for they have made some of my favorite game titles of all time but anywhere will have to do really. The designers of the company has made games that have stood the test of time and push the genre of gaming with each new game they create. The success of this company is what gave me the idea to make games that could potentially rival ones made by this company. This job has to do with our game because our class introduces students to the concept of creating a game themselves and pursuing a goal which many would mock and torture us over but wer follow our dreams and our passion for gaming.

Three greatest Inventions of all time is it well what to choose out of so many thing. First I'd have to say fire why something so simple you ask because it has been the inspiration for people and ideas Since the beginning look what has come about because of fire. Fireworks a magnificent display of color , modern warfare this includes gun powder and explosives , as well as cooked food and much more. The second would be The Internet it has reinvented how people get the information they want as well as new ways to communicate with friends and family. Three would have to be The arts what do I mean you ask. Music , dance , Painting , and some might disagree with me but also fighting. It is a way to Express oneself in a way that they love as well as calm the nerves no matter how you feel it will be brought out in your own form of art. Well there you have it Three great discoveries and inventions of all time. Late people.

STEM Hardest concept

The way I read this I need to explain the hardest concept of the issue were designing our game around. In that case our game is around problem gambling and the hardest part is quitting. Because if you could stop it wouldn't be a problem now would it. Gambling can be fun but don't let it evolve out of control because if your saying i don't have a problem and not relizing your putting a coin in a slot machine you have a problem. But yes Quitting would be the hardest part of problem gambling because you can have axcess to amost everywhere.

We finished our final game development topic that we do alone, the character effects for our game which still isn't finished. :( we're never going to et this done in time. Character effects changed the properties of an object and The character effects we made changes the color of an object as you scroll over buttons. Souinds simple right you'd be suprised i you don't know what your doing. Here is our hard work.

We finished the timer topic the other day good thing to time was almost up... i know bad joke. We were so late getting it finished that I couldn't do the blog that day so I'm doing it now better late then never. We set the timer up so that it counts down from ten seconds to zero, and then begins counting how long it has been since it reached zero. This is shown as negative time it's almost it expired I know to many bad puns any way here it is.

We just completed the score keeping topic. This topic involved changing the variables in the games Fly Catcher and Go Rabbit, Go! haha Seizer it's an old joke just forget it. We also created a simple game that involves pushing a button to raise and lower your score how easier can ya get then that.

Well we finally finished the sound effect an boy am i glad. I more thing we got down were so behind it's not even funny. We are working extremely hard to get this done in time. We have some great sound but they can get annoying so the slide bar that helps. I ask if you have anything that can be helpful for a gambling game I ask you please help us and offer some info.

Well the preloader toutorial is done and now all we have to do is put it into our game. We need to pick up the pace and get this done . it's a good thing we now have extra modivation . We still have alot to do still but we are determined to get it done. It may sound like were really behind but it's not that bad.( honestly we might be farther behind then we think) . I have came to the conclusion were most likley not going to get or game finished but we'll try anyway. All these snowdays have just made our schedule completely off track and we still have a lot of code we need to find. So far I havn't seen a single tutorial thats helped I may learn a few thing here and there but none of is really useful at this point. But the best thing to do is continue looking and pray we find something. If anyone has any action script that would choose things from randomit be much appreciated.

It's the second semester and it's time were we add important elements to our game. Sadly we need to hurry because the first six weeks are almost up so we got our work cut out for us. We need to hurry and find the solution to as many problems as possible as fast as we can. so we can get our work/game done.

Yeah Our biggest problem is we don't have the actionscript we need for our games until we get that our game will not get complete. If any one has a code that will allow us to make things random please tell us.

well we have finally done our first presentation of the class. We got throught it realitively well I would have to say our strength were our great abount of preperation and team work on the other hand our downfall was our lack of motivation . For the final presentation i wound change the camera position so to make it more stable and not as shaky. Out of every on our good friends the masters of disaster had the best presentation they explaine everything real well and in much detail and even thou their game wasn't complete what they did have is what they wanted and scott was at home in front of that camera.

well we finally started to put everything together. It's not as easy as you might originally think we are having many problems with final coding. But were working threw them with some help. It's time again to look back at my class experiences so far. Lets start with the Flash. Working with Flash has been an interesting experience. I have never worked with Flash before this class so I'm learning a lot. Flash is extremely fun especially for people with a wide imagination such as myself.

Now lets Talk about my game topic. Our topic is Gambling me and my friends on my team discussed on what the game topic should be. We wanted a game that would be fun and meet the requirements which are it has to be educational and about a social issue. So we chose Gambling a huge social Issue and it teaches math so I think we found one of very few topics that are included in what I call the loop hole.

I guess I forgot to do this blog but better late then never right. Well Learning to animate the game was intresting and need. Because with our game we will need alot of animation. So far we got all the thing that we can animate right now animated some things might take some action scripting. But we will get this game complete one way or another. So to sum this all up we the Elite Shuffle shall do as much as posible with Flash to make the most awsome game Globaloria has ever seen Bwahahahahah!!!!!!

The sound of The Game

First I would like to say you all lose the game. Secondly I would like to discuss soud of games. The sound is an important element in any game and/or movie it has many important qualities. One is it sets the mood during cutscenes and important events as well as combat. Second it allows sound effects such as gun shots, explosions, clashing swords , as well as speech. An excellent game with great sound is the Final fantasy series. A trademark of Final Fantasy is the victory theme. This series is one of the best when it comes to sound with each city and wilderness from the first game all the way to the 13th game.

We've gotten to the point in the class where we are gettin more in depth in game design. We are learning how to make it to where people can navigate page to page on the game. The game is coming along and the class is getrting harder but it will be worth it in the long run. Sorry I don't have more time to tell you more so bye.

This class has been fun but difficult but I learned a lot that will help me in my path to become the next hokage.... wait wrong show to become a video game designer. But in all seriousness In have learned alot it will be useful in the future. So far my favorite thing about this class is being able to hang out with freinds and my least favorite thing are all the blogs. I never cared about the grading systems but this one is ok by me. the class here is fun like I Already said but I would put less blogs. I have so many freinds that would love this class I mighit have to tell them about it.

Planning your game

We finally decided what everybodys partr is in all of this. My jobs are Content expert/client ,Project manager , Visual designer , Content developer/web writer. Having all these jobs is not as bad as think especially considering I'm not the only one with these titles The Elite Shuffle work as one (most of the time). I am very creative and considering the game idea was mine I should know what everthing should look like.

My team has disagreements but we work it out one way or another. For example we couldn't decide what color the floor should be so we put it to a vote after seeing what it looks like so we worked out that problem. The Game should be fun to make but I'm really looking forward to testing it that should be really fun. Lokking back at when we were testing other games already created most were really lame. I blame the requirements that we have to go by so I thought of a way to meet the requirements and still make a fun game and i came up with gambling.

So here is an explination of whats going on right know so later.

The Gamble of a lifetime (paper prototype)

Today we finally got out paper prototype video done. It took a long time to get the prototyping itself done so i was happy when we finally finished the video. I think we did a decent job but we could of done better *shrugs* but to late now.

The game is called "The Gamble of a Lifetime" I think it's going to be fun making this game but it's going to take some time to get done so we're going to have to work hard. I'll be sure to tell you when were done. Until the next time I decide to post Elite Shuffle out.

We finally made our teams and started on our game . my team is called the elite shuffle our game is about gambling and how not to let it rule your life.right now i think my team has an advantage because we have the most team members and that means we can get more stuff done quicker but other teams can still do betterr then us but will have to wait and see.

we ended up making a mini game it was fun until everyone started having problems and everyone was tring to fix it and suprisingly was sorta fun it was basicly a race to see who fixed it first. In the long run it wasn't that hard to make . I do play a lot of video games in my spare time I mainly play RPG's , fighters, and shooters I play these because I love games with a lot of action.

Mini clip project

Today the class made a mini clip (sort of) it wasn't really hard but when you make a mistake it's hard to find where you made the mistake. It took me 10 minutes to find where i messed up with some help but everything is fine now thank god. Learning all this stuff is fun but can be a real headache sometimes . Making the mini clip was fun but it's only going to get harder and I'm ok with that.

Today we had to find three blogs that had to deal with our game topics. Gambling is an intresting choice because they have their good and bad qualities but thats beside the point the blogs I found are intresting not only do they talk about rules and tips of caino games but also give an idea of what the atmosphere of a casino and online casinos are like which will help with the designing of the game. Casinos are they good or bad the answer is both please read the three blogs on gambling from the list at the bottom right and get an idea of what it's like to be in a casino.

Today we played games by other Globaloria users the first I played was Go Rabbit Go I'm not 100% sure what the game is supposed to teach us but it's a little fun. The designers of the game did an excellent job it's a game you can enjoy without being complicated but i feel sorry for the rabbits medical condition it's prone to seizers (hold down space bar it's hilarious). The second game I played was Infinity Quest this game wasn't as entertaining has the first game I mentioned but has good art work . Class is a blast we can all just joke around and nobody will care. Everyone makes jokes and just enjoy themselves because that is what this class if for to learn and have a good time doing so. I mean what is more fun then being able to play games for a grade and get a grade for designing a game this is the best class ever.

The Globaloria Program and all it's glory.

Your all wondering what in the world I'm talking about right? The answer is a simple as this Globaloria is a program where you learn how to design video games , use photo shop, design a wiki , and how to create a blog such as this one. The main goal of this program is to prepare us for current day jobs using technology and programming skills.

Most of our time in the class will be making and designing our own video game from scratch based on current social issues. My current Idea for my game is still a work in progress but hopefully my game will be a fighter or shooter. My main skill in game designing would be the imagination aspect such as story lines, monsters, weapons, and drawing.

While I've been in the Globaloria program I have learned some interesting and useful things that will be useful in my pursuit of becoming a game designer. This program will also allow me to get some hands on experience and will help me in the long run. I have many friends that help me when I have difficulty thinking up ideas which is a major help.

I hope I gave you a basic understanding of the globaloria program and ways that could help you improve your skills and/or ideas. I also apologize if I have made anyone confused.
